In support of the Lincoln Motor Company's efforts to relaunch their legacy brand, we partnered with Vimeo to pursue collaborations with emerging artists and filmmakers. Having developed a brief on the concept of reimagining ("Hello Again"), we asked a shortlist of four filmmakers to interpret something old and familiar in a new way. Each came back with a beautiful and unique concept that allowed us to convey the brand message in an authentic and compelling format across digital and social channels. The result was four completely different films: one from the perspective of a spinning vinyl record player; one made from 7,000 individual, hand-painted film frames; one desert art installation captured in a surreal time-lapse; and one exploration of our dependence on technology.
We deconstructed each film into bite-sized content pieces that could be targeted to various groups of people and seeded out over diverse platforms including Tumblr, Twitter, and Instagram. We established a strong sense of brand within the independent film community, and optimized the creative outtakes again and again, since 2013, to showcase each story.
