When the editor behind Wildsam Field Guides approached us to work with them on their upcoming Detroit edition, we saw an opportunity not only to support a talented emerging publisher, but we also saw a way to showcase content about a city coming back from the brink to highlight the turnaround and the values of our client, the Lincoln Motor Company. I pulled in a photographer who could bridge the gap between the stories and the brand aesthetic, and set our brand editorial team to extending the stories from the publication. Taking some of the zine-style editorial content published by Wildsam, we built out digital stories that dug deeper into the content topics with a mix of photo essays, illustrations, and long form content.
This storytelling allowed us to reach new audiences with interests ranging from travel, to publishing, the arts, entrepreneurial communities, and redevelopment initiatives.
This is one of my favorite projects to date, because I got to work with some incredible people in a city that I love.
